The Mountain Between Us is...too high

Wait...Two persons stuck in the mountains. Too Cold. Familiar? Ok, they go on to (spoiler alert) have sex!!! Is this not Brokeback all over again?
Not! This is a movie about man vs the elements, with romance thrown in for an excuse. It worked, but only for a while before the mountain became, well, too high! It's simply a tall order when the chemistry between the two stars are lacking. Don't get me wrong. The actors (Kate Winslet & Idris Elba) were really good to watch. In isolation. When the two are thrown in together, it is just an unbelievable mess. The story, while plausible, became naggy and over protracted, especially towards the ending. Go get a room already, but don't count me in. Tch Tch...I expected more from you Kate!
You know the song: Ain't no mountain high enough...this tops it. But not in a good way.
Ps: I think the impossible romance about two guys stuck in the mountains was more believable than this one!
