Laugh until "peng" for Oversize Cops

It’s the weekend. We all seek happy. Some indulge in alcohol. Others binge eat. Me? My kind of happy for the weekend is a movie that makes me laugh. And catching up on Vitamin S.. (guess guess? OK, more later...)
Anyway, this just opened and has limited release at Flimgarde Cinemas. It's a Thai movie about 4 over-weight cops who have to lose weight in 3 months; because being fat is, let's just say, getting in the way of their work (Surprise!). They try everything, including weight loss pills, joining gym etc., the typical stuff. You know the Thais. They like to mix comedy in horror films, and horror in comedies...So, there is this one scene that had me laugh until "peng"* - when hauntings started happening and the "ghost" leads them to their fridges packed with food, and cajoles them softly with "Gin Chan, Gin Chan..." (translated as "Eat Me, Eat Me..."). The focus on the process of losing weight was, to me, a tad too long. However, interspersed with timely laughs and a few surprises in between, it kept me going. The ending was predictable, but I felt a bit tired after a while. It ended at the right time just as I begin to yawn.
But I was looking forward to durians (YES! Durian season is back) with GG & Sally...so I had a bolt of euphoria that still left me smiling towards the end of the show. Not to mention, this weekend, I am getting loads of Vitamin S....Sleep la! (what were you thinking? ;)
*Note: “Peng” is a colloquial term to mean “overturn” in English. Loosely translated, it means it’s so funny one laughs until he/she overturns on floor, similar to LOLROF.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Carrots (healthy eating here, ok!)
